JUNIOR CAMP!!

(theme: walking in the light.)

what an experience to be serving at camp this year. so glad i was given a chance to serve full time,

only had to go back on tuesday for some Emath mock test. which turned out okay after all.

it was rather different compared to last's years one. like being one of the oldest. and also being

in-charge of a helpers group. along side jinglin, who really did most of the instucting. thanks(:

well i expected the whole camp to be a really tiring one. like grabbing all the chance i could to sleep.

BUT NO. i didnt seem to feel sleepy at all. amazing huh.

an average full camp time-table for the helpers went like this.

waking up at 6.15(well for some of us. like joel lee had to wake qingyang and i twice

to make sure we got up)

followed by washing up and quiet time.

and at 7.00 we helpers met pastor for our morning session which i think really help start our day on a right note. also providing strength for the day ahead. which explained the 'non-tiredness'.

wow. feeling the strength of GOD at work. we also met him at night. to also end the day well with him.

then after which we had to prepare and serve for breakfast. wash up for that.

prepare and serve for tea, wash up for that.

prepare and serve for lunch.wash up for that.

but thank God we were broken up in 4 groups so we didnt have to do all the things.

also for afternoon tea and dinner. and supper if there was.

sometimes we got to help prepare for GAMES. which was a really fun time. especially water games. boy it was great(:

the sketch too was awesome. WHOO. the actors were real FUNNY. wahahaha! funny.

some of us got to do 'babysitting duty'.

joel qingyang and i got a chance to take of the 3rd floor audi boys.

boy. they are one handful of boys. especial...i wont name any. but yea. there were pri3, pri6. pri 1 boys had to go home. couldnt stay the night. i think the officers scared they pee at night. haha

it was quiet experience. like there were boys who called me TEACHER. haha wow. feel so honoured sia.

there was once geoffery told amos a ghost story. he was really scared.

amos: teacher joel, i wanna go toilet.

joel: okay. go la.

amos: i'm scared can follow me.

then after that he got me to sit next to him until he fell asleep. see people feel secured around me. haha

another funny case was nick(pri4, really smart. egg shape head.)

sam chu was looking after boas cos he apparently 'split' some glowstick liquid into his mouth

(which now some all him 'GLOW bo').

so sam laid next to him.

so joel qingyang and i did our 'babysitting'.

after everyone was almost asleepy. abt 2225hours. we left for our clean up duties.

then smart nick sat up. looked around.

nick: hey guys the teachers went down already liao!

sam(deep loud low voice):oi! i'm still here.

nick: oh. sorry.

haha so funny. he sure got a fright of his life. didnt realize sam was lying there. HAHA.

there was another one forgot his name though. think it's keith, kinda talkative too.

keith: teacher, how come you can sleep so late. and we cant. not fair

nat: oh. we dont want to sleep late you know. we too want to sleep now.

keith: then sleep la.

nat: cant. you see we got to clean up downstairs later.

keith: can i help?

nat: yeah sure. you help clean up at junior camp when you're older. now go and sleep.

(words of wisdom man. haha)

then we make our way down for clean up.

usually after supper,we would like clean up the place for the next day.

like some will finish washing the pots and pans. some will do the fellowship hall.

for joel qingyang and i, we'll clear the dustbins, wash them.

bring out the rubbish to the front.

wash the kitchen. which was alittle fun. got the chance to use the super duper water-sucker to dry the kitchen floor. haha.

then shower then sleep at the 3rd audi to watch over the boys.

like a shepherd over a flock of snoring sheep.

man. this camp was really whooo then last year's. like we had to clean drains(eww man.), carry trees from the 4th floor(which scratched the beautiful lift.) and also getting 6hours of sleep all night.

but we helpers sure learned alot. the 12 P's. the P that stood out to me the most was,

POSSIBILITY THINKING.

like dont think it's impossible. like what pastor said.

'you'll be self-ordained prophets. predicting your failure.'

so true. like if you think you cant do well for your studies. sure cannot make it wad.

so thus. i'll cultivate a POSSIBILITY THINKING mind.

i'm going to grab the O's by it's horns and eat it like french fries. yumm(:

we did some singing on the rooftop(joe, ian, shaun, mark, sam(pam's bro) jewel and i.)

maybe it explains why it drizzled. composed a song, but not kiddy enough to perform on special night.

sang on the last day too. in pastor morris's office. new additions, shuyun joyce and ivan.

okay. i know it's been like more then a week since camp. but yeah. it's worth sharing my experience.

i'll post more on the farewell party at char's and sleepover at joanne's. and the TRANSFORMERs movie outing.
